Our new station
It took about 4 years of hard work to complete the studies, approvals and permits and then the necessary restoration work to transform a large part of the abandoned historical industrial complex "ATHENA" into a modern Intercity Bus Terminal. In an urban Multispace of various activities that will contribute to the revitalization of the area as well as to the upgrading of the functions of the city and the quality of the daily life of its inhabitants.
The goal was to create an infrastructure that would inspire and mobilize the creative forces of our city and move the visitors.
At the base of this goal was the creation of a modern Bus Station which will be completed with a series of spaces where the trade of local traditional products, art, culture and leisure will coexist harmoniously with the historicity of the complex and ... with a View the emblematic one for the wider area of the port cooler of 36 meters.
The new facilities of Intercity KTEL Heraklion - Lasithi S.A. were handed over to the public in 2018 and now the historic building of the city of Heraklion, "Athina", can and does comfortably serve the public, whether they are going to travel with one of the most modern and safest buses be it any other service. At the same time, the area of the restaurant, the cafe-refreshment and the small market were designed so that they could serve the guests as directly as possible.
